Illinois State Scholars

Each year, Illinois high schools submit 6th semester rosters to the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. This includes seniors’ names, class rank, and grade point averages.  This information is then matched with SAT scores to determine the Illinois State Scholars. Last week, twelve Wesclin High School seniors were named Illinois State Scholars. The Illinois State Scholars are chosen based off of SAT/ACT scores and their class ranking. The scholars represent the top ten percent of high school seniors from 757 high schools in the state. 21,000 students were named Illinois State Scholars this year. “I’m very excited that we have 12 seniors designated as Illinois State Scholars this year. These students have worked hard, and I’m happy that they are being recognized for their high scores and excellent grades” said guidance counselor, Sherry Fisher.
