Letter from Superintendent

March 04, 2019

Wesclin Parents:

You have likely heard of a recent, disturbing internet challenge called Momo. While there are conflicting reports online about whether it is true or a hoax, the news reminds us of the need for parents and educators to have conversations about healthy media choices with children. Below are links that offer insight to this issue.

The reports serve as a good reminder to us all to be aware of the content children are viewing on their video games, computers and phones. Please remind children that while characters such as Momo are not real, they are designed by people with harmful intentions.  If they ever see or hear of these types of messages, children should report it to you or a trusted adult immediately.

If you have any questions, please contact me at 618.224.7583 ext 5655.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Filyaw, Superintendent
