Wesclin Lifesavers spread the love on Valentine’s Day
Written By: Hannah Sauerhage
The week of February 11th, Wesclin High School’s Lifesavers worked together to make every student and teacher feel appreciated on Valentine’s Day. The group not only hosted a hug day, but also made note cards with a nice, unique message and piece of candy for each student and teacher. These notes were delivered to each student at the end of their school day on February 14th. When asked about the activity, Lifesavers sponsor, Mrs. Pilgreen said, “I am so proud that students came up with this on their own as a way to support their peers!” Hug Day has been an annual event for the Lifesavers group. Psychotherapist, Virginia Satir, said, “We need 4 hugs a day for survival. We need 8 hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth.”
