Commended student of the 2018 National Merit Scholarship

A lot of studying and stress go into taking the famous PSAT. Of the 1.6 million PSAT takers, only about 50,000 of the students earn recognition for their academic achievements. After taking the test in October of 2016, all juniors, now seniors, were eligible for this award. Wesclin High School, senior, Collin Henderson, was awarded a Letter of Commendation for his high PSAT score. When asked how he felt about receiving this award, Collin said, “I'm really proud to see my hard work for the PSAT pay off”. Of those 50,000 recognized students, only about 34,000 will receive a cash scholarship from any college, business, or corporation in any amount of money.
