Wesclin math team’s first victory

On September 18th, Wesclin High School’s Math Team travelled to SWIC for the Southwest Math Competition. This was the first meet and the team started off their year strong with a 1st place win in the team competition, with the team consisting of Ethan Boulanger, Cameron Johnson, Karaghan Daiber, and Morgan Owens. Individual wins went to, Morgan Owens, who led the Freshman team with 2nd place, followed by Abby Oster in 4th and Lauren Bray in 6th. Sophomore Kyle Hurst finished 2nd, while Cameron Johnson led the Juniors, getting 1st place, preceded by Nate Brede in 3rd and Jenna Fleming in 4th. Ethan Boulanger also finished 8th for the senior class. “We were good last year, but we have a strong freshman team this year, so we can only improve from here and get better as we go,” said junior member Nate Brede.
