Parent/Teacher Conferences:

It was great to see many of you at Parent/Teacher Conferences.  Please know that if you have any issues, you can always reach out to any of the teachers.  If you were unable to attend, please be expecting your child to bring home their IAR results from 4th grade as well as their Remote Learning Packet for the 25-26.  Please put this in a safe place to be used in the event of a Remote Learning Day being called in the future.  Again, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Veteran’s Day Activities:

We are excited to honor the men and women who have served our country at our annual Veterans Day Assembly on Friday, November 7 at Wesclin Middle School. In order to make this year's celebration more personal and memorable, we need your help! Here are two special activities we are planning for this year:

 1. Coloring Contest: All students K-8 will have the opportunity to participate in a patriotic coloring contest. One winner will be chosen from K-3 and one from 4-8 to be featured on the event programs. All other submissions (following the requirements) will be displayed the day of the assembly. The contest information is attached. Students can also pick up a copy and blank paper in the office. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, October 29.

 2. Veteran Family Slideshow: We are creating a special slideshow to feature photos of veterans who are family members of our students (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, etc.). If you have a veteran in your family you would like us to include, please email a clear, digital photo to ringlerl@wesclin.org by Friday, October 31st.  Please include the following information with your photograph:

  • Your student's name and school

  • The veteran's name

  • Their relationship to your student

  • Their branch of military service

We look forward to honoring our veterans and sharing this special assembly with the community. Thank you for helping us make this powerful connection!

Please be sure to join us for our Veteran’s Day assemblies on Friday, November 7.  The elementary program will be from 8:30-9:30 followed by breakfast in the cafeteria.  The middle school assembly will be from 10:00-11:00.  Help spread the word!

Red Ribbon Week:

Student Council will be observing Red Ribbon Week the week of October 27-31.  Red Ribbon Week is a time for students to think about the choices they make and how avoiding drugs, tobacco, and alcohol can be a positive influence in their lives.  To recognize Red Ribbon Week, each day has been designated as a dress-day. The themes for the week are:

Monday 27th - “Peace Out to Drugs-I’m part of the solution, not the problem ” Wear tie-dye/60s attire

Tuesday 28th - “We Match Because We Fit -Drug Free is the Perfect Fit!” Wear matching outfits with friends.

Wednesday 29th - “Jerseys On, Drugs Gone-Solve Life’s Puzzle Strong!” Wear your favorite jersey or Wesclin wear!

Thursday 30th - “Be the Bright Piece in Life’s Puzzle!” Wear neon/bright colors and sunglasses!

Friday 31st - “Costumes and Clues-Solve Life’s Puzzle, Drug Free Too!” Wear your Halloween Costume. MUST be school appropriate (no weapons, or make-up/hair spray at school, no mask or face coverings during instruction)

Playground Equipment Donation:

As we start to hit our stride for the school year, it has been noted that some of the most popular sports equipment enjoyed at recess has seen better days! The WMS Support Committee is happy to support this cause, but before buying brand new we wanted to consider gently used donations. So, if you are looking to declutter and have any of the following lying around looking for a new home, please send in your sports equipment donations to the WMS office.

Requested Equipment:

-Basketballs

-Volleyballs

-Soccer Balls

-Playground “bouncy” Balls (used for 4 Square)

-Footballs

Thank you!!!!
