Tomorrow’s Teachers Conference 2018 will be held October 15 on the campus of Millikin University for juniors and seniors interested in teacher education.  Students receive a $2,000 scholarship (over 4 years) for attending the conference.  Register at millikin.edu/ttcr.


Scholarship Update:


United States Senate Youth Program Scholarship

-Phase one brings two students from each state to Washington, D.C. from March 2-9, 2019.  Phase two awards a Hearst Scholarship of $10,000 to selected students.

-Applicants must be juniors or seniors that serve in an elected or appointed leadership position during the 2018-19 school year.

-Application deadline is October 3, 2018


AES Engineering Scholarship

-$500 award

-Applicants must submit an essay between 500-1000 words responding to the following question:  When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful?  What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey?

-Essay deadline is October 6, 2018

-Submit your essay to scholarships@aesengineers.com


Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship

-Awarding over $60,000 in scholarships (2 from every state)

-Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or better, participate in at least one school-sponsored sport, and demonstrate leadership

-Apply at wendysheisman.com

-Application deadline is October 17, 2018


Horatio Alger Scholarship

-Applicants must show need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross income), be a US citizen, and at least a 2.0 GPA

-Apply at scholars.horatioalger.org

-Application deadline is October 25, 2018






VFW Voice of Democracy Essay Contest

-Two $500 awards from the Trenton VFW

-Applicants must write and record an essay on:  Why My Vote Matters

-See Mrs. Fisher for details

-Essay deadline is October 31 (return to Mrs. Fisher)


Elks Belleville Lodge Paul L. Kunz Memorial Scholarship

-$1,000 awards

-Applicants must complete the official Most Valuable Student application that can be found at:  enf.elks.org/mvs

-Awards will be based on scholarship, leadership, and financial need

-Application deadline is November 15, 2018
