Wesclin Scholar Bowl begins season

Wesclin High School Scholar Bowl had its first match against Waterloo on January 8th. The students buzzed in to answer questions in the categories of math, literature, social science, and fine arts. There are three teams that represent Wesclin: freshman, junior varsity, and varsity. The freshman team brought home a victory from the first competition. . Since then, the scholar bowl team has competed two more times. On January 10th, the junior varsity and varsity teams brought home victories against New Athens. Finally, on January 15th, the Scholar Bowl team faced Columbia; junior varsity and varsity both came away with a win. Senior varsity member, Owen Henderson, said, “Though the varsity team lost quite a few seniors last year, I think this year’s team will be able to keep up the good record.”
