Wesclin students compete in Black Tie and Talent competition

On Saturday, January 12 seniors Noah Marlar, Lexie White, and Owen Henderson took part in the Black Tie and Talent competition held at Hidden Lake Winery. All three students placed in the competition. Lexi White placed 7th, Owen Henderson placed 4th, and Noah Marlar placed 1st. Noah chose to play the piano for his talent, give a speech on servant leadership/ presidential run, and won $2,500 of scholarship money from TechKnow Solutions Inc sponsored by Michell Stockmann and family . Owen Henderson performed a song, gave a speech about Boy Scouts, and won $1,000 of scholarship money from Art and Theresa Stephens Memorial. Finally, Lexie White played the clarinet, gave a speech about faith, and received $750 in scholarship money from CTR Concrete & Builders Scholarship. The competition had a total of eight contestants. “I just want to thank the Sons of the American Legion, TechKnow Solutions, and all other scholarship donors” said Noah Marlar.
