Wesclin honor band attends Quad State Festival

Select students from Wesclin High School’s honor band made the annual trip to Murray, Kentucky where they attended the Quad State Festival at Murray State University. Seven members of Wesclin’s band were chosen to attend. Juniors, Abby Finn, Mia Gonzalez, Noah Siegfried, Jenna Fleming, and Alexis White, a sophomore, Angelika Donaldson, and a freshman, Trevor Korte, left on February 22nd for three days. In preparation for the concert on the 24th, the students went to different master classes and learned new skills and techniques regarding their instruments and how to play them. Along with learning, they had the privilege of watching different bands like symphony and jazz bands perform at the university. The Wesclin honors band members attended this festival to meet new people and become better musicians. A junior honors band member, Abby Finn, said, “It’s always a different experience each time we go, but it’s always so much fun. We get to meet new people, have experiences, and play with good bands.”
