Kindergarten registration for the 2019-2020 school year begins in April. If your child in already enrolled in PreK or ECE, you do not need to complete the full packet of information that is listed below. The school office will have your forms that you will need to sign. The packets below are for new students entering our school district. 

 

Registration at both buildings will be from 6:00 - 7:00 pm, beginning with an assembly and then parents will fill out forms while the children go to an activity.

 

 

New Baden Elementary kindergarten registration will be Tuesday, April 23, from 6:00 - 7:00 pm.

Trenton Elementary kindergarten registration will be Wednesday, April 24, from 6:00 - 7:00 pm.

The state requires that a child must be five years of age on or before September 1, 2019 to be eligible for kindergarten enrollment.

 

This event will include a fun introduction to kindergarten, so please bring your child with you.   The evening will include meeting the teachers, hearing important information from the principal, school nurse, and secretaries, and completing and filing necessary paperwork.  There is no longer be a screening involved in the registration process.  Please expect this event to last one hour.  The forms to be completed are also online on the district website www.wesclin.org.  For your convenience, you may print and complete these forms in advance and bring them with you.

 

Parents should bring their children’s birth certificates (the one from the county in which the child was born – NOT the hospital certificate) to the school on the evening of registration.

 

By mandate of the Illinois State Board of Education, the Board of Education of Wesclin CUSD # 3 is required to be able to prove that the students attending its schools are truly a resident of this school district. You will find residency requirements listed below.  Please bring ALL documents with you to registration.

 

Category I (One document required)

  • Most recent property tax bill and proof of payment, e.g., cancelled check or Form 1098 (homeowners)

  • Mortgage papers (homeowner)

  • Signed and dated lease and proof of last month’s payment, e.g., canceled check or receipt (renters)

  • Letter from manager and proof of last month’s payment, e.g., canceled check or receipt (trailer park residents)

  • Letter of residence from landlord in lieu of lease.

  • Letter of residence to be used when the person seeking to enroll a student is living with a District resident.

 

Category II (Two documents showing proper address are required)

    Driver’s license

    Vehicle registration

    Voter registration

    Most recent cable television and/or credit card bill

    Current public aid card

    Current homeowners/renters insurance policy and premium payment receipt

   Most recent gas, electric, and/or water bill

    Current library card (if it lists your name and address)

    Receipt for moving van rental

    Mail received at new residence
