Wesclin’s mock pageant, Mr. Wesclin, will take place on January 24, starting at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30. The event will consist of 10 students, all participating in swim wear, evening wear, and talent categories to win the title of Mr. Wesclin, along with earning money for a school club or organization of their choice. The 10 young men competing in the pageant are: seniors Collin Lashbrook, Michael Kastler, Chris Trimble, and Caleb Kalmer, juniors Collin Henderson, Kyle Monical, and Reiss Wegman, sophomores Owen Henderson and Taylor Gooch, and freshman Ryan Gladden. The participants, along with student council, have been putting the pageant together by choosing costumes and music for their performances. Preparation for Mr. Wesclin began in early November, starting with student sign-ups. Since then, it has been a whirlwind of eagerness and excitement for the contestants. Sophomore participant, Owen Henderson, is representing the Drama Club in his Mr. Wesclin performance. He said, “I wouldn't describe the competition as fierce. We are all very friendly, and everyone has been great to work with.” When asked about his performances, he said, “I hope the audience appreciates and enjoys what I'm doing. I’m really excited for it.“
