Wesclin Math Team Brings Home Outstanding Results

The Wesclin Math Team began its season with a great start on September 19th, at SWIC, with outstanding results for the first competition. In the freshman division, Kyle Hurst placed 7th, McKenna Daiber placed 6th, and Ryan Gladden came in 1st place. Sophomores, Rachel Terwilliger placed 8th, Nate Brede came in 2nd, and Owen Henderson took home 1st place. Senior Abby Becherer came in 2nd for the individual test. Ryan Gladden, Owen Henderson, Katherine Krausz and Abby Becherer had an outstanding placement of 1st place in the team competition. The individual tests were composed of 50 questions with a 40 minute time limit and team tests composed of 10 questions with 15 minutes to complete the test. The team will head back to SWIC on October 3rd for the second competition of the season. “My first math team competition was a good experience. I’m glad I went and can’t wait to go back,” said freshman, McKenna Daiber. Mrs. Brede and Mr. Schleifer have dedicated much time and effort into Math Team helping improve results as the season goes on. It wouldn’t be possible without them!
